How does Atlas compare to the bigger ballistics apps?

Atlas is built to be just as accurate, just a lot faster to actually use. The big-name apps are powerful, but they're dense. You end up spending more time digging through menus than solving. Atlas gets you from opening the app to a dialed number in seconds, and it does a few things the others don't, like the spotter system, group analysis and Compete.

Atlas is free to download and free to use. Make an account and you get 14 days with everything unlocked, no card, no auto-renewal. When the two weeks are up it just reverts to free. If you want unlimited profiles and the advanced tools after that, Atlas Pro is $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year.

How accurate is the ballistics engine?

Atlas runs a point-mass trajectory solver with G1/G7 drag models, full atmospheric correction, and true Coriolis and spin drift. It's the same physics the industry-standard solvers use. I test it against real impacts, not just theory.

Does it work without cell signal?

Yes. All the math runs on your phone, so it works fine in the backcountry or at a range with no bars. The only things that need internet are the ammo box scanner and live weather.

What platforms does it work on?

iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch right now. Android isn't out yet, but it's on the roadmap.

How is Atlas different from Hornady 4DOF or Strelok?

Hornady 4DOF uses Hornady's own drag model and is free. Strelok is a long-standing solver with a huge reticle library. Atlas uses a G1/G7 point-mass engine with spin drift, Coriolis and aerodynamic jump, and adds stage cards, a shot log, group analysis, Apple Watch support and an ammo box scanner. Do I have to create an account?

Nope. You can use the calculator without one. Making an account just gets you cloud sync across your devices and the 14-day trial of everything.
